Semanty when the phone is not in your hands
Semanty can stay locked, open only with your face, or delete the history if someone forces you to unlock.
All of this stays off until you turn it on. There is one place: the menu at the top right, then Phone protection. It sits under Settings.
Someone opens the app
The first thing they see is not the chat. The screen says „Semanty is locked“. It asks for a face, a finger, or the phone PIN. Until that passes, the conversation is not visible.
You turn this on with „App lock“. It asks every time Semanty opens.
If you leave Semanty and come back after about 20 seconds, it can ask again. That is „Lock in the background“, and it works only together with the lock.
There is also „Secrets only with biometrics“. Without your face, finger, or PIN, the secrets on this phone cannot be read.
It is not your face
„Panic on a stranger face“ locks as soon as Semanty goes to the background. It does not wait 20 seconds. It opens only with your face or finger. The phone PIN does not pass here.
If two faces are in front of the camera, Semanty locks. It also locks if someone picks up the phone after the camera saw no face. The history stays. Nothing is deleted.
The lock has to be on first. The phone needs your face or finger saved, and camera permission if the phone asks.
Someone forces you to unlock
If they make you look at the phone, your own face opens it. For that moment there is a second PIN, and you give it only then.
On the lock screen there is a field „Password“. Your face or finger opens the chat as usual. If the panic PIN is typed instead, it looks like a normal open. In fact the keys and the history on this phone are deleted and do not come back. Then a sign-in screen appears.
You set it from „Panic deletion“. You type it twice, at least 4 characters, and tap „Save“. The lock turns on by itself. Remember it. This PIN does not unlock Semanty.
Only hide the text, without deleting
This is different, and it lives in Settings, not in Phone protection. „Panic mode“ hides the ordinary text on your screen. Three quick taps on the chat name, or a shake of the phone, and the text cannot be read. Nothing is deleted. The person on the other side does not get a different message.
Which one for which moment
| The moment | What happens |
|---|---|
| Someone opens Semanty | A locked screen. The chat stays hidden until a face, a finger, or the phone PIN passes. |
| You come back after a short while | After about 20 seconds in the background it can ask to unlock again. |
| A stranger's face, or two faces | It locks at once. The history stays. Only your face or finger opens it. |
| Someone forces you to unlock | The panic PIN looks like an open and deletes the keys and the history on this phone. |
| Someone is looking at the screen while you are in the chat | Panic mode hides the ordinary text. Nothing is deleted. |
In one sentence
The lock hides the chat. A stranger's face lets only you in. The panic PIN is for the moment someone forces you to unlock: it looks like an open and removes the history from this phone. Panic mode only hides the text in front of the eyes.
Common questions
Where do I turn these on?
Menu, top right, then „Phone protection“. Everything there is off until you turn it on. Panic mode is separate, in Settings.
Does the panic PIN unlock the chat?
No. Your face and finger open it. The panic PIN deletes the keys and the history on this phone, and that does not come back.
Does a stranger's face delete anything?
No. It only locks. It opens with your face or finger. The phone PIN does not pass.
