What is Semanty?
Semanty is an app for talking with people close to you. You write one thing, and another ordinary text sits outside. The real meaning comes back only for the recipient.
Does it already exist?
Yes. The app exists and is still in a closed phase. You can join the beta list or write to us.
Is this a secret chat app?
Yes. Semanty hides messages in a new way — it doesn't just lock them with a password, but turns them into another, everyday text. This gives you a true secret chat for close people that doesn't raise suspicion, even if someone looks at the screen.
What exactly is "semantic displacement"?
It is the process where your message is translated into completely different but meaningful text before being sent. This way, a harmless conversation appears on the screen and over the network, while the true meaning is restored only on the recipient's device.
Why don't you ask for a phone number?
Because a phone number is a direct link to your identity and your entire social circle. Semanty uses anonymous identifiers and QR codes to connect. We don't know who you are and we don't want access to your contacts.
Are messages encrypted?
Yes. Content travels end-to-end encrypted. The server is a mailbox: it routes a sealed envelope and does not read the meaning.
What does Panic mode do?
It's a tool for physical screen protection. With a single gesture (or by entering a special PIN), you hide the real content of the chat. Nothing suspicious is sent to your chat partner — the change happens only on your device.
Do I need to convince everyone I know to download Semanty?
No. Semanty isn't trying to replace the apps you use for everyday chatter with colleagues, couriers, or distant acquaintances. It is a specialized tool for your inner circle. Keep using other channels for the usual noise, and save this space for the conversations that matter.
Is there a desktop version?
Yes, the desktop version will be available right at launch. It is built to work completely offline, without relying on web browsers that can easily compromise personal data. Through the special "Mail mode," you will be able to encode messages locally on your computer and send them anywhere — via email, social networks, or other messengers.
Can I use Semanty outside of the app itself?
Yes. For Android, we built our own custom keyboard. It allows you to write encoded messages directly in other channels — for example, in an email client or another chat app. You type the real text, the keyboard translates it into a harmless theme, and pastes it into the other app. The recipient simply copies it and reads it in their Semanty. The difference from the foreign channel: keyboard or foreign channel.
Can I download it now?
The app is still in a closed phase. You can join the beta list or write to us if you want to be among the first to test it.
