Privacy policy
Semanty is a chat for friends and small groups. We keep only what the service needs. We do not sell data and we do not build ad profiles from conversations.
Chat messages are sealed on the phone when both sides have keys. The server holds the envelope and does not read the meaning. If the keys are missing, an older path remains. In both cases the server does not receive the open text from the field. A reply from a notification uses the same path. For delivery we keep only what the parcel needs — account, thread, time and type. New files use a few fixed sizes, not the exact byte count. We do not claim there is no delivery data.
This informational site
Separate from the app. No ads and no analytics script on the page — no Google Analytics. The server counts opens as a daily total: page, country, the hour here, phone or computer, where the person came from, and an approximate number of different opens that day. If a search engine sends the words, they join that same total. To see a return on another day, a mark without the IP is kept for up to 90 days and is not shown. The IP is not stored. Totals are cleared after 90 days. If you pick a language, one technical cookie semanty_lang is stored (about a year, only for that choice). What we process
- Account: login username, password (hash only), session tokens, recovery email if you set one. The session does not store IP address or user-agent. Online / last-seen stay so the chat list works. The account invite code stays.
- Profile slogan, gender and photo: a locked note when the app can lock it. If that fails, the old record stays so the profile does not vanish.
- Group name and a reaction emoji: the same locked note. If that fails, the old record stays.
- Chat invites: a locked note when the app can lock it. If that fails, the old card stays.
- Chat mask: the choice stays on the device. A locked note is sent in the chat only when the mask changes, not every time the app starts.
- Delivery: destination account, time and type. New files are stored in a few fixed sizes, not the exact byte count. Older files keep their previous size and still open. Contacts and group members stay so chats can be opened. Who sent a message stays, so it can reach the right person.
- Notifications: a device push token. The nickname is not stored next to the token. The preview text is neutral. The chat number stays in the notice so the room can open.
- Security: a short log for sign-in, recovery, and abuse limits.
- Feedback you choose to send.
- Abuse reports if you report someone. We read those.
- Optional encoded text you submit for writing help (for example DanAIa). The meaning you type does not go to the servers. We do not use it for ads.
On the phone
- The Semanty keyboard sees the letters while it is on, otherwise it cannot type. It does not keep a list of what you type in other apps and does not send that to us. It does not use an accessibility service to look at other apps. Android still shows its own warning for every third-party keyboard.
- The clipboard is read only when you tap Decode.
- The camera and microphone are used when you take a photo, record voice or video, or start a call.
- Face or fingerprint, if you turn them on before a decode, stay on the phone. We do not receive them.
- The app does not read the list of every installed app.
Who processes the data
The service host, Google Firebase for notices to the phone, and email for recovery and support@semanty.co. We do not sell data.
Payment
Silver and Gold are at the prices shown in the app. Payment goes through Google Play and turns the access on for the account.
How long we keep it
- Text envelopes and files are usually cleaned up after 15 days.
- A file (photo, voice, document) goes out encrypted. We keep the delivery note. After that time, without a local copy, it cannot be opened from us.
- Feedback: usually 30 days.
- The account stays until you delete it.
Deletion
In the app: My profile → Delete profile (password and confirmation). The profile, messages, files, reports, sign-in and email are removed. Nothing of the account remains. The same path is on the account deletion page. You can also email support@semanty.co.
Sharing
Only with providers the service needs (hosting, push, email). For a valid legal request — the minimum needed.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 16.
